Pastor Jarvis Jeress Suggs is a devoted and passionate servant of God. Growing up in the lively town of Newbern, Tennessee, he was raised in a deeply Christian family, laying the foundation for his lifelong commitment to sharing the gospel. In 2006, Pastor Suggs embraced the divine call to preach, guided by the esteemed Doctor Reverend Johnny Pack IV at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon. This moment marked the beginning of his extraordinary journey as a minister of God’s word.
Recognizing the importance of nurturing the spiritual growth of young believers, Pastor Suggs served as the Youth Pastor at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, for three inspiring years. He dedicated himself to guiding the youth on their spiritual paths and instilling in them a profound love for Christ. Driven by a desire to deepen his understanding of the Christian faith, he pursued higher education at Mid South Christian College in Memphis, Tennessee, earning a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry. This education empowered him to effectively minister to his congregation and meet the community’s spiritual needs.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor Suggs served as the Assistant Chaplain for the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, conducting weekly Bible study sessions for the department’s personnel. This role allowed him to extend his ministry beyond the church and support those in law enforcement. In 2009, he was called to lead the Ministry Of Hope Missionary Church in Portland, Oregon, where he currently serves as a beloved and respected pastor. His outreach work with the homeless reflects his tireless commitment to offering support, compassion, and Christ’s love to those in need.
